The Hogan Judgment Report includes two scales that measure information processing: Numerical and Verbal. The Numerical scale concerns the ability to identify patterns and rules, which predicts interests in science and math as well as performance in finance, accounting, engineering, and IT tasks. The Verbal scale concerns the ability to understand and use words to create desired effects, which predicts interest in literature, philosophy, journalism, and advertising as well as performance on tasks requiring good communication skills.
