Competencies are important to our work at Hogan. They help provide granular information about jobs, distinguish between similar jobs, and identify personality characteristics critical for success in a given job. As important as competencies are to us, they are even more important to our clients, who use competencies to drive business objectives and guide organization-wide HR practices.
Helping organizations quickly tie their competency models to Hogan’s competency library is a key way for us to improve efficiency. Natural language processing (NLP) is a method to easily analyze text data. The Data Science team at Hogan is working to use NLP to quickly align clients’ competency models to our own—making product choices and research services quicker and easier.
