  • Funny Business: Humor and Personality in the Workplace

Have you ever been in a meeting and witnessed humor used successfully (or even unsuccessfully)? We have all experienced humor in our personal lives and work lives. Humor is a tool that can be used for good. It can help with forming connections, building relationships, and easing communication. But it is a tool that can diminish our reputation in the workplace. Humor is subjective and could lead to hurt feelings, ostracism, cringing, and line crossing. Having an awareness of your environment, context, and your own humor style can aid in using humor successfully in the workplace.

In this webinar, Jessie McClure and Cody Warren (who are not stand-up comedians but rather consultants at Hogan Assessments) will discuss the research behind humor at work, the different types of humor, and how these humor types relate to the Hogan Personality Inventory (HPI), Hogan Development Survey (HDS), and the Motives, Values, and Preferences Inventory (MVPI). Come join us for some discussion, science, and hopefully some humor along the way!
